Howdy,
A note from the road. Rolling today from Lethbridge to Saskatoon across Palliser’s Triangle - hopefully not related to Bermuda’s. Crossed into Saskatchewan a while back and just about to roll through Rosetown.
The prairies are beautiful.
The tour has a been great fun singing songs from my glowing red swivel chair.
All of the shows so far have been sold out but there are a handful of tickets left for Saskatoon at the Broadway tonight. If you’re one of my many fans in Laura, Conquest, Pike Lake or Asquith and want to roll into the big city for a night out- now’s your chance.
Saturday in Winnipeg wraps the western leg of the One Real Reveal on Wheels tour and then I resume in the east later in October after a couple of Emergency shows with the Arkells and the Bravehearts Gala benefit in Niagara-on-the- Lake with Sam Roberts and Dave Nugent.
Other breaking news includes a new video this week for Let Me Go, Jo. Here’s an advance unlisted link before it goes live and fully public in a couple days.
Shot on Super 8 by Nicole Cecile Holland and Eric Stephen Martin in the days before heading out on tour, it gives a glimpse into some of the things you’ll see on stage if you make to a show on the One Real Reveal Tour.
Big thanks to Nicole for the great editing and camera work, Eric, Sarah Swire for the camera assist and eye for detail, Mike Hall for gaffing the shoot and doing the final export, Andy Munro for building the windows and Mo Kenney for their Mazda truck transport.
Lastly - a thank you to Alex MacAskill at Midnight Oil Prints for designing and hand printing these stylin’ tour posters for the merch table on short notice right before the tour started.
Ok - we’ve arrived in Saskatoon for soundcheck so will sign off and post this shortly- pardon any spelling mistakes and half-baked grammar. Hope to catch you at a show this fall.
Joel
PS: for paid subscribers- below is a live recording of High Summer from the Carleton in Halifax last fall. This is one of the first times I’d played it live after writing it so it’s got a bit of that ‘first time around this corner’ feeling. Your continued support here at The Window Inn is appreciated.
