One Real Reveal was released this past Friday. Thanks to you all who have sent along and/or posted kind messages about the record. The first leg of the tour starts tomorrow in Nanaimo (sold out!) but there still some tickets for other shows available here. This is the longest tour I’ve done in 20 years and I’m really looking forward to the shows.
My wife, Rebecca Kraatz, has put up with a touring musician since we met in 1994 - my joke is that during 2020/2021 she put up with a musician who wasn’t on tour… (cue Let Me Go, Jo)
While being away is never easy, Rebecca’s an exceptionally creative artist, and whenever I come home there is always something new to see. Things like this huge crocheted face:
Rebecca made the wood burned paintings used on the covers and gatefold of One Real Reveal back in the 2000s. They were hanging on the wall in my office while I was working on the record and weaved their way into the songs. The front cover is actually a close of crop of an alternate cover she made for La De Da back in 2004. Here is the full work:
