Howdy Folks,
Dave Marsh, as many of you know, is the drummer for The Emergency. He also is inspired and inspiring songwriter - check out his rocking True Love Rules album- much of which we recorded in my basement back in about 2008-ish.
Dave has taken to playing a lot of piano these days and we tackled a new, unreleased song of his called What I Like About Charles with me on the drum kit. It’s was fun one to make and to fit both of us on the green screen we had to share piano bench.
Recorded by Thomas Stajcer at Fang and filmed by Mike Hall. Thanks to Seamus from The Brood for the lend of the roto-toms and to both Mike and Dave for the finishing on this the edit as I recovered from my shingles/Covid combo. I’m out of isolation, huffing and puffing a bit but on the mend.
Looking forward to some live performance in the months ahead. In the meantime, crank this one up. Thanks again for the support here on Patreon that helps make videos like this happen.
Joel
PS: The background in the guitar solo shot is a photo of an epic mural painted on the back of a music store in Regina in the mid 2000s.
