Window Inn Wednesday, April 5th, 2023
Featuring yours truly, Mo Kenney, Matt Horseman & Alexander Gallant
Here is a 20 minute "podcast" recap of the first Window Inn Wednesday we hosted on April 5th down at 45 Portland- the home of Friction Books, Morley's Coffee, Taz Records and Fang Recording.
We had a sold out house (35 tickets!) to see a few mystery guests.
I kicked off the eve with a short set of spoken word projector shenanigans and a few new songs.
Alexander Gallant, who was also our bartender for the evening, played an entertaining set of his original songs.
Matt Horseman took the photos of the evening (as seen here) and talked with Mo Kenney about some of the ace pictures in his book, Two Rivers.
Mo played a set at night's end and was joined by Sophie Noel on vocals for a beautiful rendition of a Big Thief song.
Thomas Stajcer (below) & Alex Burris recorded it on my four track cassette recorder.
Mike Hall ran the projector and Dylan Jewers (below) helped host and pull the whole thing together.
We had some laughs that evening and trying to be a “podcast host” for this audio version recap was cracking me up.
We are about to have the second Window Inn Wednesday this coming week. It’s sold out now and I look forward to seeing a few of you there. We’ll record it again so expect episode two sometime later May once we get a window to edit after the Jimmy Rankin record I about to start production wraps.
As always, thanks for the continued support here at The Window Inn. More to come.
Joel
